The Project:
  • The Boiler Feed pumps at Godavari Power station are 8 stage units originally supplied by Weir Pumps in the UK. Spectrum Power Generation contacted ClydeUnion Pumps to investigate the feasibility of de-rating their BFP to reduce their energy consumption.
  • ClydeUnion Pumps Engineering team conducted an in-depth engineering feasibility study, based on the information supplied by the client. ClydeUnion Pumps engineers identified that the Boiler Feed Pump could indeed be de-staged, whilst still providing the required throughput for the plant to operate at normal capacity.
